Heather

Heather, a stay-at-home mom, never imagined she would become homeless. However, her life drastically changed when her husband abandoned their family. With no family support, Heather was left to raise her two young daughters and provide for their needs alone. Heather gained employment, but was unable to pay rent with her meager income which led to homelessness. Heather and her girls went into a local homeless shelter and were accepted into our Community First program. Through this program, the family moved into an affordable home, Heather gained full-time employment, and the children are thriving. Heather shared, “This program has made me a stronger woman and a better mom to my daughters.”
