Christina

On her 57th birthday, Christina found the strength to leave a 20 year abusive relationship. She knew that homelessness would be frightening but had to give herself a chance to live free from violence. Within a week of moving into Miriam’s House, she was employed and was quickly promoted to a leadership position at her job. She worked with staff to learn how to manage her finances successfully, developed a budget, and began saving toward housing. Christina found a safe and affordable apartment and signed a lease in her own name for the first time!
