Miriam's House Welcomes New Board Members!
We are incredibly proud to welcome two new board members to our Board of Directors: Leslie King and Hope Townes, Esq.
Leslie King
Leslie owns her own consulting company, Leslie King, LLC., which provides strategic consulting to organizations interested in creating more equitable outcomes. Leslie has worked in the Lynchburg community for a number of years in the nonprofit and public sectors and has contributed her expertise through board service at many nonprofits, including Many Voices, One Community.
When asked about her Miriam’s House board service, Leslie shared, “I hope to use my experience serving on nonprofit boards, capacity building expertise and knowledge of equity to help Miriam’s House accomplish its mission to end homelessness.”
Hope works as an Assistant City Attorney for Lynchburg City, primarily handling matters involving contract, employment, real estate, zoning, and child welfare. She serves on the Executive Board for the Lynchburg Bar Association and is on the Board for the Virginia Legal Aid Society.
When asked about her board service, Hope shared, “I really believe in Miriam’s House and the great work the organization is doing. I went to high school with two clients featured at recent luncheons and continue to see the benefit of Miriam’s House in their lives.”
